Has anyone heard new news of a meidjo with cage toe/resort oriented?

I remember some years back seeing some sketches/prototype blueprint type drawings online of a meijdo with an NTN cage toe instead of the tech pins

I would still love to see this. I loved the feel of meidjo bindings, and the releaseability. But have had to give them up for work skiing where they became too unreliable and one day broke on me

I have no info on this, but the title caught my eye.
I would be surprised if that happened -- seems like tech toes is the direction things are going.
I have several sets of the M3 I have skied many days on and like them ok.
The suck for multiple transitions -- but up, then down is fine.
Release is nice, but not particularly reliable -- broken ankle to prove it.
Resort is fine, but I've become curious about the Outlaw X.
Easier step-in, easier transitions, *may* have a tighter interface to the ski for more precise control.
Have you skied the OLX, by chance, for comparison?

Yep I've been using the outlaw x since leaving meidjo.

The binding is a bit more powerful and definitely has a tighter interface. The tele feel isn't as good as meidjo which felt similar to 75mm; but it skis leaps and bounds better than the god awful rottefella ntn bindings.

However I disagree about the outlaw x having easier step in. Once they developed the flat step in box, the meidjo was soooo smooth and easy, the hard part was just learning to line up the pins. Which definitely took some time to learn.

The outlaw step in is so unreliable. It rarely works great for me. If they're freshly lubed with silicone and you nail the kick into the toe cage with brakes then sure it's a breeze.

Most of the time though it takes at least a few tries, one ski will work better than the other, and often I will have to reach down and hold the claw vertical while stepping down to get it to engage or it just won't.

Honestly it's my biggest gripe with the outlaw.
Otherwise it's proven to be pretty durable. Which is the main draw

The pivoting cage is quite interesting.

Edit: The thread is from 2020 and no news have surfaced since then, so I would not wait or get my hopes up. Meidjo have worked well for me both inbounds and outbounds. Outlaw X also looks good. The new Bandit looks very nice for inbound skiing, but it should have be named the Inlaw. TTS might be an alternative if you are after the 75mm feeling.

The Meidjo skis like ass on hardpack. I can't stand that binding, it's a piece of wobbly fragile shit. I'm quite confused on why so many people love it so hard. The Outlaw skis significantly better. I went the no brake route and I have no step-in issues. Click and go, everytime.

There have been some issues with sticky claws staying in the down position after a missed step-in. Manufacturing issue during a certain model run. There is a fix if you have sticky claw. Check it out maybe it pertains to you?
