Scarpa T2s. What Year?
Scarpa T2s. What Year?
I just picked up some lightly used Scarpa T2s for $70. Boots are pretty much brand new, with maybe 2 runs on them. No signs of wear in the pin holes and sole.
Easy lock buckles, Sky Walk soles, Plus fit liners, ski and tour mode, and fit great. Alot stiffer then my Scott Excursions.
Any idea on the year these were made and if the liner is heat moldable? Also if anyone has any info on the history of the T2s and different Scarpa models over the years that would be great. Cant wait to test them.
Cant flip photo for some reason?

I *think* this was the version before they became ECOs, so not old.

I have two pairs of those and they are still my favorite for back country touring. The next version T2 was red and gained a little weight and stiffness. Then the Eco came next, I believe. Though I don't remember when I got them, I would think they gotta be at least 10 years old. The original liners are moldable.

Thanks for the information. Hopefully Scarpa doesn't quit making 75mm boots. I might have to get another set.

Not exactly. These are T2. The red ones are T2X. I have both of them. They were made at the same time, right before the green T2 Eco. Great boots BTW...

Re: Scarpa T2s. What Year?
I think those were one generation before the T2X -- the first year they had thermoldable liners (instead of the lace-ups), circa 2004, 2005 -- and the last generation of T2 (then came T2X and then T2 Eco).

Well I tested my T2s today. What a great boot. Not use to the higher cuff yet but simply loosening up the straps and upper buckles while touring allows enough flex. Need more snow for a better comparsion between my Excursions but so far so good.

I’ve got the same pair. Love em. Picked them up for $25 at a used gear shop.

From what I could tell after skiing them today is my T2s were never in broken in by the previous owner. Boots were used maybe 2 times and they sat in a closet. Im sure they will break in well. Just will take a bit of time.

Bellows and soles are actually soft, right out of the box... But it is a very good thing to thermoform them for confort...
