Skiing in august. tough day... 6 mile approach 4500ft vertical. lots of boulders to get here...only to find breakable crust. but can't complain, it was sunny most of the day.

Lower Spire, Alaska. 12 months of skiing complete.
You're a monster! I love it! Keep it up and keep posting stoke

Thanks, Woods!

btw, I finally found a perfect spot for the winter. there's at least 8 mile one way trail for 2500ft vertical....an easy gentle slope ... its 1.5hr drive. perfect day tour of 16 miles with opportunities to do some laps off piste. minimal to no avy danger! and best of all...the views...I'm pretty excited. will be challenging... wind blown hard snow on the ridge and deep snow at the trailhead. most likely have to break trail as it is fairly remote and may not be used much in the winter...unless snowmachines poach it... I'm thinking the Asnes Skog may work well since the slope isn't very steep.

will report back in November. that area should be getting 1st snow in 2 wks.

this is from this weekend on top and below the ridge...lots of wide open rolling hills on ridge. windy on the ridge tops. options to ski the gradual ridge line or directly off of it for a steeper descent.

September has brought a few dustings to the alpine in Colorado, as well as one of the more spectacular falls I’ve seen in regards to aspen color.

You can never have enough skis and boots.

If I were in Ak I’d be skiing now but I’m not so I’ll enjoy what I can. Skiing might be my favorite thing but it’s not my only thing.
