In the South of CZ the snow has all rained & melted away. Earlier in December we had some days with half metre of fresh powder on top of a hard thin base above about 900m with skiable 20cm fresh below that down to 700m. Surprisingly early in the season! We'll see what the rest of the winter brings. Fat chance it will be nice when I'm away working and vv.
Now I first want to play around with my 2nd hand E109s. Maybe next year I'll order S-bounds if they ever get produced... Perhaps by then new old stock from delayed production of this winter
It is going to hit 11 degrees C in Val Gardena town (1563m) in the Dolomites this week, early Spring! We also had a lot of early snow- October/November.
I looked you town up on the map you are about 30km as the crow flies east of where I used to ski in northern Bavaria when I lived there- the Bayerischer Wald. Winters varied- we only had one great one when you could ski everyday, we could even ski from our doorstep in the lower part of the Oberpfalz- you could ski across farms in the winter nothing was posted it was all open and there were logging trails through every forest. I put a lot of KMs on my 210cm Europa 99s. Then we had almost no snow for two years, then the next year rainy mush mixed with snow. Then moved to Italy.
It is too bad the snow is not more reliable- skiing village to village in the Wald was great!
A Norse Saga- Finally finally finally I secured my wife's Fischer Excursion 88s in 169cm. I found four shops with them in Norway (none elsewhere in Europe). None would deliver outside of Scandinavia, Two of them had last years model- at a very high price. Only one would accept my card for payment all the others wanted Klarna which is a Scandi thing and my bank won't deal with them.
Thank you Tromso Ski and Sykkel- sold the skis with Xplore bindings and prep waxing (not hotbox, that has not spread that far north yet...they just got the telegraph). We will pick up these skis in beautiful downtown Snaasa next month. I paid about 2x what they cost in France or Germany where I normally purchase. I told them they can buy me a beer at the Skarven to make up the difference.
My Excursions are still in DHL purgatory and floating around somewhere nearby, maybe by end of week.
I've driven through Snåsa a few times and had some food in a local "Kro". Are you going to tour Blåfjellet or visit mystical healers? I wouldn't know what else to do in Snåsa

I have spent a seriously large fraction of my income in that shop.
Is hotboxing the same as infra red waxing, by the way? Because you can get that done in XXL on the other side of the Eurospar!

Next time you go there stop at the Grana Bryggeri (brewery) awesome beer, a great place to end an 8 or 9 day tour you start at Kopperra or Meraker. Thor the owner/brewer is topp! It is also a Air BnB and has a washing machine for customers!!!! If you just want to do a weekend tour start at the trailhead in the Immdalen and ski to Gjefsjoen fjeelgard and get a cabin there (no raod access) from Nils-Christian (also a couple of easy Topps to do from there)- https://gjefsjo.no/en/about-the-farm/
Then ski back. Some of the best backcountry in Norway. Lots of cabins a few DNT but mostly from the Fjellstyre and the two remote fjellgard (other is Guandalen). If you stop at Grana Thor is a wealth of information and has good stories and knows all the other farmers. https://www.visitnorway.it/listings/gra ... y)/209569/
But sadly no Foxy-Boxing in Snaasa (to my knowledge)...then again knowing Thor....
Beautiful rolling skiing! (That etched reindeer is 6000 years old and full size- about 150 meters off the road to Trondheim)
