I scoped some eskers out the other day I want to ski. Close to home, actually a fair deal of vert for around here - maybe 80-100 feet (that's a lot by the lake). Most of them are really steep though and lots of blowdown and tight trees to contend with. I could probably hop down the steep parts and ski the bottom half of the bowls. I'm trying to find a spot where it's a more moderate pitch all the way down that is somewhat clear. It all seems to be flat or really steep...

I've scoped a lot of stuff near home, but it's the matter of having the snow. We had one week this year when I could have skied this stuff and I blew it. I skied something I knew, stayed out too long and got sick.

I don't know if you remember that picture of the glade I posted last fall. Best thing I've found around here. Varies between 15-20 degrees down center of the bowl, it's over 30 at the upper lip, but I wouldn't ski that line. I think it's just over 1100' vert.
