Hey CIMA,
It's official, I'll join your super-cool club next year... I just bought two pairs of NNN/BC bindings... One for the Glittertinds and one for Fischer Explorers... Can't wait...!!
Now I just need to be brave enough to spend 200$ on those NNN Alaskas...
Thanks for turning me into a true XCD skier...!

When did you get Fischer Explorers?
I wonder how those will work? What a funky ski.

Definitely, you're going to be a key person who breaks the ice for north american XCD skiers to find nice things about NNN/BC. Can't wait for next season, either!

There aren't so many NNN/BC skiers over there so far, but they will increase in the near future.

Johnny surely will be the NNN xcD ski JesusCIMA wrote: Definitely, you're going to be a key person who breaks the ice for north american XCD skiers to find nice things about NNN/BC. Can't wait for next season, either!
But seriously there are a lot of people in the Northeast using NNN/BC. It's actually a fairly popular choice for XCD skis. The thing is I'd guess the good majority of those users are skiing XCd i.e. backcountry nordic touring where the efficiency of the free pivot really helps covering the miles. The ones skiing on pins may be a bit harder to find though... they might be a little more off the trail system and exploring glades. I'd still venture to say that group is far in the minority. On the other hand, more people doing downhill focused skiing (slides and mountain tours) tend to be on AT or light tele gear. I'm not sure there will be any huge revolution for folks to switch to NNN/BC for that type of stuff.

Ahahahahahahah! Man, you're totally messing up my budget and the way I intended to spend my income tax return...!Now I just need to be brave enough to spend $175 USD + Free shipping on those NNN Alaskas...
Humm.... I doubt it... People are a bit narrow-minded here... (I know, they are everywhere... ; ) They already think I'm a total freak "going down black diamond trails with cross-country skis and leather shoes..."you're going to be a key person who breaks the ice for north american XCD skiers to find nice things about NNN/BC
But I'm sure I'll learn a lot of things going the NNN way... Who cares about stiffness when you can have "technique"...?
Hey I'm gonna put a big sticker on my NNNBC Glittertinds: "XCD technique brought to you by CIMA & his friends"!

Nah... those bindings won't do much good without the boots.LoveJohnny wrote: Ahahahahahahah! Man, you're totally messing up my budget and the way I intended to spend my income tax return...!
Plus I can't wait for you to see how much better the NNN boots are. I don't know how many people on here have tried both, but if you like the 75mm, you'll love the NNN!

Mouahahahahaahahaha! The XCD Ski Jesus!!!
Oh about the Explorers Crowns, I just bought 2 pairs... I didn't really want the skis but they both came with NNNBC bindings and they were 40$ a pair... One pair is yours if you want it for your magnums... (Hey, I could make you a killer deal on a Merell SuperComp/Karhu XCD-GT/Fischer Explorer ski package... ; )
I don't know much about them, all I could find was this:

I don't know much about them, all I could find was this:
- Steel edges, S-Deck and SnoShocks provide complete control to set this Nordic Cruising model apart from all the others. The Explorer will ski off track conditions confidently but still narrow enough to fit in any tracks.
-Full-length metal edges dig into hardpack conditions for excellent control
-S-Deck platform technology increases leverage for effortless turning
-Snowshocks technology helps reduce vibrations in off-track situations, keeping more of the usable surface on the snow for better control
-Aggressive scalloped-shaped crown pattern offers remarkable uphill grip without diminishing skis' turning ability
-Imported
