Re: Ski Movies
I never really got what was fun about dropping cliffs... Maybe I'm just retarded... I thought it was cool when I was 10, but that was just because it was dangerous...
That's why I don't like post-80's ski movies... It's all about cliffs, heli skiing and arials... Which is sort of ok... But there's no GOOD skiing anymore. Dropping 10000000000' cliffs is one thing, but being a good skier is a totally different story...
Whether it's on the hill or on movies like this one, I really enjoy watching good skiing and good skiers. Unlike freestyle skiers, these guys can actually ski. Gee, it's so beautiful to watch those Italian instructors... Look at them..!
Modern ski movies are cool and wow and awe, but it's not really 'skiing' anymore... If they could add some segments with actual skiing, I would probably enjoy the whole thing... Hey, I have nothing against freestyle, I like it a lot actually... But I like skiing much better...

The flowing river never stops and yet the water never stays the same.

Re: Ski Movies
Although my skis rarely leave the snow I enjoy watching telemark movies with big air and big lines. A few years ago I broke my leg (skiing) and bought all of the Powderwhore movies to help get through the downtime. I don't need the big air stuff to enjoy a movie but I don't mind it either. I get a lot of vicarious pleasure from tele movies in general and they will help me remember that feeling when I'm too old to ski.
