A new 7TM?

I've seen a new kind of 7TM binding in Telemark-pyrenee catalog: the 7tm STI Power XR... Supposed to be stiffer... Does someone knows or read more info about them? Pretty hard to find...

No info on 7tm.de, seems like a STI P2 with a stiffer spring... I wonder why they haven't offered different springs from the beginning if it makes a difference... Some info I found from some European store:

►25% stiffer spring (red) than the 7TM Power Two STI
► Improved heel part with more active 7tm power mechanism. Very good improved pivot point, through the usage of a metal pin in the front panel compared to the previous models and even in comparison to most other bonds on the market!

I NEED a pair!!! Best bindings ever!
(Wow, the red plate is sooooo sexy... I'll ask if they can make me custom pink plates...)

Hey, LJ, how come there're the best? Can you share some thoughts about it?

They say «improved activity»... But when I look closely, the pivot bar seems to be the same—same place. The only thing that changed is the spring... from what I've read...

Yeah that's why I wonder why they haven't offered different springs from the very start...

Thoughts?
- The only true releasable binding on the market
- The only true step-in binding on the market
- Tougher than NTN
- Lighter than NTN
- Cheaper than NTN
- A million different boots to choose from etc...

How do they ski? It all depends of the way you handle them... The skier only makes the difference..

A binding is a binding is a binding... Turns out that 7TMs are very good ones...

Not as active as NTN but hey, who needs that much stiffness all the time? Aren't we XCD skiers first, with nothing for a binding but 3 small metal pins? It's always funny to see how many very bad skiers are on NTN...

Ok LJ, I guess my question was too vague... In terms of «activeness» and «tele resistance», what does it ressemble to? Would you say HH#3 or HH#2? To a Targa or a Cobra? I am thinking about it: I might buy a pair of those XR for next season...

The original All Mtn 7TM bindings were about HH 2-3... Still, they were good enough for me to carve at high speed with my GS skis... Then they added 30% with the power models... The improvement wasn't huge, but noticeable on snow... Add to this another 25% with the XR and you'll probably get a pretty cool binding... It'll never be as active as NTN, but it's still a much better binding IMHO...

The experience of my friends who used 7tm says that this bindings is too soft and does not have the necessary torsional stiffness to active skiing

I think that this bindings is good for soft and relax telemark skiing, and it is releasable, and it is ok. But if you want telemark skiing hard, active and powerfully, you should use more reliably bindings, like 22desings HH/AXL of Cobra R8 and etc.
