I’m sure the Free would be more to my liking, but there is a smoking deal I saw on a Skaget, tough call.

@turnfarmer Skaget is a very nice boot, and can be great for flatter tours, narrower skis and softer snow, as well as touring/Nordic skating where hiking is involved. So if you get a good deal it might be a good start on Xplore dempending on your use case(s). I bought an extra pair on sale as a reserve, but my sons can also use them, so that is part of the reason. Skaget is warm, comfortable and have my full recommendation.

The Alfa Free is a very nice boot, but read the reviews and try it on first. With my rather normal feet I can just get it to work skiing downhill with the hard flexor, but it is close to giving me problems. I love the concept with internal plastic reinforcements and the BOA closures, but I long for an improved version.
