Mea Culpa: bought a pair of...
Rossignol BC70! Almost new for really cheap.
I needed a pair of scaled skis for the spring, just to travel through the woods... The BC 70 has a strong camber; consequently, they are fast... And they are hard to control in bad conditions, like in semi-frozen corn snow. For exemple, the Glittertind, with its flatter camber & round nice flex is much better — can even be turned efficiently — but are a bit sluggish on the flats. Ski design and compromise...

Rod were scales a requirement? Just saying, I can “control” my 210 Gamme on some tight terrain on firm. If it’s breaking through, and the snow is heavy or crusty, well that’s a different story, but on hard glacier it’s fun. Sometimes it’s fun in a “aren’t you ever going to grow up manner”, but it’s fun. It’s fast too! I need a 30-35 mm mohair X-skin, but klister works.
I really want a Nansen, because in my mind it would be faster than my Falketind, but I could still drop a knee and bend it. For now, I guess I have enough skis. I need more time and snow, but you can’t get those things with PayPal!

Sometimes, scales are good... specially at the end of the season, where you would find north exposed mountain side after a south exposed... Man, with klister, that's a pain.
I took the Rossi for a ride today in a nice corn snow condition and... it was good. These things can even turn! Not as easy as the Glitt though...

Glad it was good, Rod. It’s fishing season here. Saturday on Lake Huron

Just curious; what is it that you are fishing? Can't tell from the picture...

Those are coho salmon, Rod. They will be 8-10 lbs by fall. They are stocked in the Great Lakes.

My Dad needs one of those kayaks (what are they?) so he can stop dreaming about bass boats. And so I can borrow it.

@Stephen I’m not in the least surprised you caught me on that!
At Musk Ox, thank you that’s very kind. Certainly the Fjords offer great views, and some tasty morsels swimming around?
@Lhartley It’s a Hobie Pro Angler. I have been paddling a solo canoe on the Big Lakes for 15 years. My fishing buddies starting switching over to the PA’s more than 10 years ago. I was a slow learner. It would have been very difficult in the canoe that day.
@Rodbelan i am sorry for the thread drift. I am very happy to hear you are still skiing in the woods!
