I never heard that before or even seen paddles resting on the grip. They're not T grips BTW.

Finally, a pair of Epoke's! I've wondered how they're never mentioned here; they were such a well respected and widely used ski for many years. Another one of those I should have kept.

They were popular in the Daks back in the 80's. I remember people skiing them with heavy leather boots. They were good turners.

@lowangle al is the one with the white grip a Dexter? Also, who made the 2nd cleaver and what's it for, veg and slicing?

I think it is a Dexter, a six inch boning knife . It's my go to kitchen knife.

The cleaver on the right is Chinese made. It's great for chopping veggies and is sharp enough to be a slicer. The one on the left is for the heavy work.

I first saw them in the 70's when I was in the Wasatch, and they were coveted by the XCD crowd back then. I was in the Dak's in the 80's and 90's, and they were the preferred ski of many (myself included), usually skied with Merrell XCD leathers. Sold lots of them during those years too in the shops I worked in. The 900's were the flagship model; the 1000's (slightly wider) were delightful as well. Saw a pair of 1400's-once- in the rafters at Wasatch Touring in SLC; they looked like an AT ski compared to the 900's. Never saw a pair of those on snow.

I thought so on both accounts. I have a dexter boning knife but I thought mine looked longer than yours, although pics can be misleading. I've gotten into Chinese cooking this winter, in particular use of the round bottom carbon steel wok right in the firebox of my cookstove after removing the hob rings, and especially the food of Sichuan, so I bought myself a Chinese slicing cleaver for added style and just to see how it works. Way different than a western chef knife, which I still use for rocking motion to mince herbs.

Pretty much content with two pairs of skis at this point if I'm predominantly touring for turns, which is typicallymy goal. The Findr xcd for low angle on fishscales and Zero G for covering more vertical on skins. Quite similar skis actually, I wish I had the bindings mounted both the same at the point as on the g3's.
