G3 skin glue issues
G3 skin glue issues
So I've a pair of yellow with green graphics G3 skins that are ~5-7 years old+\- the glue is starting to leave way too much residue on my skis to stand. Has anyone else had this issue and what should I do? Stripping them seems like the only option but thought I'd ask first.
If stripped I'd probably use BD glue this time, no?
Thanks in advance

You mean, the skis are getting sticky? That's weird...
All my skins would need to be re-glued too... But I'm not sure it's worth the trouble...

Re: G3 skin glue issues
have you tried the iron or parchment paper/iron trick?
i did on those same color skins that left some glue on my bases and have yet to test them out, but for what its worth base cleaner takes that crap right off so I might bring along a spray bottle and rag with that particular touring setup.

Re: G3 skin glue issues
At least your G3 glue sticks to the skis! Mine would stick to a warm dry ski but more than one run and I would end up with only the tip and tail clips stopping them from peeling off. Tried ironing with parchment paper and that certainly helped, but didn't fix the problem.
So I stripped the G3 glue and applied BD iron on glue. Only problem now is they are now rather hard to peel apart.

Telemark about 30% of the time. Was Nick (AT) on the old forum.

My G3 skins are doing the same: One run and they won't stick anymore... But I never really took good care of them...
