A Little Love for Rex Universal
Re: A Little Love for Rex Universal
Can something like this be replicated with a combination of swix products? I imagine it's a completely unique blend

@Lhartley Rex universal is based on pine tar, and i don't know of any Swix products which are... There are other brands though. Vauhti for ex.

Start has a long line of pine tar waxes. Fisheater has said he was disappointed with the terva yellow though. I have only used terva blue and the oslo purple. None of these will have anywhere near the temp range of Rex Universal.

Thanks, yes I read it was based on pine tar. Just thought id ask if before I make additions to me waxing system, I like the idea of staying in one system but this wide ranging temperature sure is attractive. Will pick some up from Norsemans hopefully

Note-
I used a kicker skin over the Finnish King's universal wax today at then end of my tur this afternoon-
it seems to behave the same as a spectrum of grip wax across the temperature grade...
It is harder at colder temperatures, and therefore less likely to get pulled by skin adhesive- and softer at warmer temperatures and gets pulled by skin adhesive, just like a soft kick wax.

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.
