The "inside edge" i.e. uphill ski is shorter than the other because of the difference in turn radius between inside and outside edges in telemark turns. G3 made an asymetrical sidecut ski as well, albeit without the fancy bobtail of the Scotty Bob.

Help me identify these boots and bindings!

For the life of me I can't remember the model of these boots and bindings. Alzheimer's, I guess. The boots are most definitely Scarpa double leather boots with two or three buckles. I wish to god that I had never sold those boots.

Can't friggin' remember the model of the bindings, either. Riva cables?

This was my backcountry ski setup when I lived in Colorado back in the late 1980s, when I had just learned to tele. I did a lot of solo skiing and carried huge packs deep into the backcountry to ski for a week. I loved summer corn. The skis are 205cm Elan F.A.S. alpine skis that I bought for $60 at a ski swap. The skis had never been mounted but they were so cheap because the serial numbers were mismatched! LOL They skied just fine.

I took my New 190 cm Nansens to the local ski area today to test them out, I was very impressed by how well they skied! I have voile 3 pin hardwires on them. I really like having the riser plates under the bindings to prevent boot out, however, I barely used the hardwires, they just felt kinda weird with the leather boots but did provide some nice extra control

the shop that mounted these put the left 3 pin on the right ski and the right 3 pin on the left ski but the risers will allow me to switch them so that Fridtjof's face lines up correctly, I just haven't switched them yet :P
