Thanks Stephen. Trying this again. Hoping someone might have an idea what generation these are.

A couple light scratches and slight rust on the edges. Nothing a little tuning won't take care of. Somewhat concerned that the flex may be too soft for me. Just not used to waxless patterns. Will hopefully find out in october!

If you’re getting skiable snow in October, you probably live in a location that gets a lot. In that case, a fit of flex may not be such a bad thing as long as you arent waaay over the ski’s recommended weight range.
Sounds like the edges might benefit from a gummi stone and an edge angle… all easy DIY jobs.

Southcentral alaska. Usually on skis by late october. Will definitely give these bases and edges a little work, along with a good base wax cleaning, when I remove those system bindings and put on the pins.

Was going to mention the auto bindings, but everyone has their own groove to follow in life.
My experience wasn’t good with nnn autos. When switching to BC, never went back to an auto ever again (been ln Magnum manuals for years and have added Xplore to the mix).

These aren't autos, they are manual, but system bindings are not my thing for off track skiing. Been a pinhead for almost 50 years.

Ahhh… didn’t look close enough. Thought there was a divot on the front of the binding…
Yeah, some ppl like pins. Others don’t. We all get to pick our whiskey. Put my pins away 20+ years ago.

"PINS" come in many flavors. I put away my simple pins (and NNN as well) for xcd 6ea4s ago when I discovered Viole's hardwires+pins. I can ski about anything on them off or on piste. They are active and no other binding provides the redundancy.
Voile really keeps it simple, durable and effective. Great company. Love the look of their new TTS.

Bumping this up in hopes someone will give me their thoughts on these skis. Been away from t tips for a while as summers are very busy for me here in s.c. Alaska, but seems that a bit of a p.....g contest has developed, which may deter some from posting. Hope not. I am not really a telemarker, more just an old guy that likes to slide on snow.
I am concerned these skis may be a bit of a "drag" for me. The length posted must be under the binding, but I believe them to be 200 cm. They have a very soft flex, with very little camber.
I have skied a very similar ski, the Karhu xcd in 210 and 205 for many years, with similar dimensions and flex, but they are wax and what I use for a wax pocket is shorter than the fishscale pattern on these E99s. I weigh 180 lb. nekked
Any thoughts on what generation these mountain crown based e99s are? And if they may be a little short for me? Either way,I will be skiing them before too long, but have always appreciated the advice and tips I have been given on this site and on the old site when I was "wannabe"
