Yeah, when we stick to talking skiing (which one would expect of a skiing forum) and keep personality out of it, it usually goes cordially and is informative. Decided to pass on the boots solely because I already have 2 and have as of yet not even tried 75mm. Will give it a season and see how I like it first. Definitely gonna remount Nansen with it, and probably my new natos, just because of what I read about that binding being robust, easy for field repair or whipping up something to get you through in the event of a failure.

That new Finnish binding (the one being packaged with the KSF Scout) looks interesting. Heel spring only. Welted boot slots into the toe piece. Provision for a toe strap but not needed if the toe piece is adjusted properly.

No bail, no pins, no special boots (other than welted with a distinct heel). And it’s not like the Finnish Army doesn’t know about skiing. Probably a bit more oriented to distance, rolling hills etc.

Going on sale this fall through KSF.

Might suit your kind of skiing @mca80, lifestyle. You sound like an outdoorsman. Prolly appreciate having the opportunity to ski into town, take off skis, and pick up necessaries without changing boots.

Post script: Just to keep the focus on boots…

Time expired. Zero bids meeting the min asking price. Zero.

Doesn’t prove anything but highlights the difference between chat room dynamics and what ppl are actually willing to put their money into. LOL.

Relisted tho… Oops, did it again. No bids.

Let’s see if the listing time expires without minimum bids a third time…

Yup. Fourth time a charm?

Nope. Maybe five times…

Not that either.

Pretty certain these things will eventually sell to an indiscriminate buyer. Heck, used toothbrushes sell ffs. But the topic isn’t celebrating poor judgment. Nor should it be encouraging it.

Campsaver has a 25% discount for the Scarpa Maestrale XT boots. I found the discount on DontPayFull, and there are many other good discounts available.

If your toes are squished, and your toenails come off, it could be a sign that your boots are too tight or the soles have worn out.
The Scarpa T4 boots can be quite stiff initially, but they may loosen up over time.

As for compatibility with your Fischer 88 S-Bound skis, the Scarpa T4 boots should work well, but it's always a good idea to double-check with the manufacturer or a knowledgeable ski shop.

The Fischer BCX transnordic are known to be stiffer than the Scarpa T4, so they may not be the best choice if you're looking for a softer boot.

Regarding opening and closing the back clip of the Scarpa boots, it can be a bit tricky, especially with gloves on. You could apply some silicone lubricant to make it easier, or you could find some helpful tips in online tutorials or videos.

Transnordic stiffer than the T4? That's dead wrong, not even close. Unless you are talking about toe pinch, volume?
The T4 is at least 1 if not 2 classes above the Transnordic.

I don't even know what this means, How much stiffness is there in a stiffness class?
Agree that T4 is stiffer than TN.
