Looks like 7" outside my door. Not sure how much fell near the lake, hard to judge from webcam image given that wind could have blown it all off the railings and steps, etc.

Looks about right. Forecast was accurate. Did a time lapse, with zoom…
This morning. Patchy. This aft. Still patchy. Snow falling, sticking, melting. Not accumulating. Might get more tonight. 40 tomorrow tho. Not that it matters. Hill closed anyway.

16 inches of new snow at porkies ski hill currently. They are closed but why not ski up and ski down? With the wet dense warm snow, scales work well.

Re: Am I really in Duluth?
It was too windy for my liking today. Yeah, I am a puss when it comes to wind--maybe the all-wool clothing, but I think it's a deeper aversion than that--warm summer day if wind is 30+ mph I don't go on a joy-ride on the bike, I wait till less resistance. Tomorrow maybe. Does look patchy on the zoomed in photos, but that shouldnt preclude skiing up and down. No scales, but wide x skins up should be fine.
Also how do you know 16"? I was gonna telephone hq earlier and forgot and they are likely closed now.

If you think there’s 16”, go for it. Use your best skis. Come back. Tell us all about it.

So much for the great blizzard of April 2023. Back to glade and green pastures… for the next 7 months.

Re: Am I really in Duluth?
Since it's a lazy Sunday, I decided to try a drive up to my camp for a look around. I tried last week but the road up to the hills was so rutted and muddy that I gave up but today it was passable. I had thrown my t78s and poles in the back of the truck just in case there was snow up there. Much to my surprise, there was 2 to 3 feet of firm corn on all but the south facing sun exposed hills. The snow was great for k+g but too firm for turns. It would be perfect with a little more warmth than there was today. The forecast is for 40s daytime highs to 20s nighttime lows all week here so it looks like great corn skiing for the foreseeable future!

Re: Am I really in Duluth?
I just saw on the TV news that Duluth broke their snowfall record at 135 inches. That's a lot of snow. Have fun, spring skiing can be the icing on your cake.
