Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
today I use go-fast AT gear that is only slightly beefier than Nordic racing gear...uphill speed, downhills terrifying.
but on the Tele side, I did update those black/yellow Comps to the much more stylish blue/orange Pros...the Comps never fit right and really caused problems going uphill due to wicked heel slip.

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Rented a cabin in the Porkies for a night, right on Superior. Rained a bunch Tuesday night which turned to 2 inches of new snow in the morning Wednesday, pretty glad it switched to snow. Yesterday the waves must have been 10+ feet! Photo of the lake is from this morning, lot less windy. Yesterday went on the xc trails around and up to the vista at the top of the alpine hill then skied down a green run in my Finnmarks. Was a bit hairy when I hit patches of ice but otherwise turns were smooth.
To tie it in with the food thread: last night had multi-graim baguette with a Spanish stew called Chilindron made with venison, and baltic porters and vodka. Breakfast today was spanakopita and 1 cup of coffee. Gonna ski around some other trails and up to the west vista and down the other green run I believe.

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Snow in central CO east of the divide had been almost too thin to ski, and one night of snowfall with soft snow under dense snow made it almost too deep (at least until the new stuff settles).
You can never have enough skis and boots.

When did you first realize that the new Scarpa Telemark boot would always be coming "next year"

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
went out to the Continental Divide today to ski as fast as possible across some country in a classical technique
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
I skied down then caught bus to grocer, bus to higher point, then skis back.
Store has a "NO SKI BOOTS" policy and signs. Merrill leather 3pins are pretty stealth, eh? Got some looks, but only a Texan spoke up, asking, "How long?"
Just barely cleared all the hanging signage. Mid-ski is velcro-strapped to top of cart.

Do you live in a place where if you left them outside someone would steal them?
