I had high hopes for winter this year and last year was great. I think the UP had a couple of places in the top 5 last year with over 300 inches. Damn I'd need a front end loader for my driveway, but bring it!

We have the rain dance. Maybe what we need is a snow dance!

I think it was 3 seasons ago we had so much snow and cold that many many roofs were collapsing under the weight. The local fire station roof and the school bus warehouse roof collapsed. We had over 6 feet of base snow at my camp in the Hurons for all of Feb and most of march.

Welp it's cold again, below zero f tonight, but dry as a fricken bone. I suppose it's back to the damn tracks after they get the ginzus out. The backcountry stuff will have to wait. At least we had a tall base.

After two low-snow, temperate years, we're having a great snow year! Snow packs are 150% or higher for about the entire state. Temperatures have been unseasonably low. I can ski the fields right up the street from my house and we're forecast for a lot more next week. At this rate we'll be playing in the white stuff until June. I may be able to find something to ski in up until we get our first snows next winter! Best winter in five years.

Am I too old to become a ski nomad?

Depends whether you ask a ski bum or your wife!

Finally. Some much needed lake enhanced snow is in store for the week and it's the snow I like best: cold, deep, fluffy lake effect. Winter is back for the time being!
