Ridge at edge of my property goes down to the creek. It's steeper than it looks, maybe 80 to 100ft vertical, and the narrow jeep path meant a few quick turns to keep speed down. Gettin more confident and this will be good practice so that I can start going through more dense growth, although I am thinking about reading up on forestry management and getting to work thinning the woods over there, both for increased health of remaining trees and some easier ways to learn to ski down through them.

Also when you have a pic that's done vertically rather than landscape it always comes out sideways. How do I fix that?

Dolomites this week. Not many telemark skiers down there. Actually found one more!

Found some untouched snow beside the slopes. Actually really soft and nice! I shall try not to complain about the weather ;)

Oh man, you would not believe the speed one can get on totally stable, very floatable forest skis with correct glide wax, when pointing them straight down a fjell! Although I should have brought the Falketinds today, tomorrow is a new day! Been getting stronger and more confident on these "weird" skis. It was fun zooming past a bunch of tourists on a guided snowshoe safari  Kuertunturi, Äkäslompolo, Finland

My son was there last week and said he only saw one other pinhead. Maybe you saw each other!

Well, moving pictures.

A very snowy day on the Meadow Mtn. trail, just south of Rocky Mtn National Park east side, near Allenspark. Nice, steep but generally protected from slides with prudent routefinding, about 5 1/2 mile RT, 2200 vertical. There are a few other excellent ski trails in Allenspark, including the old Rock Creek Ski area ascent, and the Finch Lake trail. I think my camera was a bit fogged up, a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea.

Other than crepuscular critters taking an occasional interest in you, evening weekday skiing is a nice way to have a popular area to yourself.

Watch out for them randy locals, they will lead you astray when it’s that beautiful out.

I hope the snow is that nice on Sunday

Just proud of my wife who always carries what's needed -- in her pack and in her head -- in this case, to help her gal posse friends who didn't have kickers for the up.
