Re: Interview Subjet for Article on XCD
Cross Country Ski magazine is the one on the rack in the proshop at XC centers, so their target audiences are the classic and skate lycra crowds, not burley backcountry telemarkers on our (apparently) soon to be obsolete 75mm and cables. An article discussing turns using light and medium touring gear is very appropriate for that group, imo.

Hi all. Thanks for the thoughts and resources! 75mm won't become obsolete, I hope, but fgd135 has it correct about the magazine and its audience. I've only "pitched" the article, which means telling your editor an idea you'd like to pursue... up to them to assign it. I'll check back when I hear a yay / nay... meanwhile, if you're in the NE, enjoy this snow!!

Re: Interview Subjet for Article on XCD
Hey, If this happens I'd love to talk to ya!
Briefly: Grew up alpine skiing in the Laurentians but stopped in my early 20s due mostly to the cost of alpine gear / lift tickets and boredom with the hills around here.
In my early 30s I fell in love with XC and was spent a few years exploring the hundreds of kms of groomed and backcountry XC trails around Quebec. For a while it was the only skiing I did.
Then at some point I discovered XCD (must have been due to this site ) and started taking my XCBC skis and NNNBC alpina Alaskas to downhill resorts with mixed results I eventually also picked up some used 75mm heavy telemark gear and had some fun with that...
In 2021 I made this season edit that includes all of the above:
