I wonder if I ought to mix up a little more and just coat the exposed edges?
I like the idea of preemptively putting a light coat of epoxy along the exposed fiberglass laminate at the tip and tail, where the most contact wear would be. FRP laminate is strong stuff, but on edge, is easy to damage.
But, if you don’t hit stuff, unnecessary…

I like that, too. They feel fragile out of the box and right now, in this early season snow, the rocks are mostly covered but there are more branches still protruding. And I tend to skin up some really tight stuff. Basically bushwhacking in skis.

Though, I'm not sure there wasn't a tiny bit of delamination out of the box...

Yes exactly, my epoxy looks weird because I did a little sanding on it.

I'll definitely do this first chance I get. I did take the FT62 out this morning on a newly groomed, rather icy road. I remain amazed at how well it tracks and K&G but it clearly wasn't really the tool for the job. I just got at set of Gamme (190) from Sport Albert and need to get the Xplore bindings mounted!

These skis, at least the way I use them, need some tip protectors. I made some out of rubber hose and, as I expected when making them, they fell off immediately. Maybe I could just dip the end in some of that Plasticoat for tool handles??? Pull it off, trim the excess, reinstall.

I’m surprised Åsnes doesn't sell some for $40 a set.
