Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
The snow is going fast here in Romo NP and that means it’s moose season! Also hoping to try to ski at Milner pass again this year. The Ranger at the gate said the plow was past Milner but not to Alpive Visitor Center. I’ve done both legs on bike now, at different years. From valley floor, 9000’ to Milner, 10,750 was a thigh killer. So if they open cars up to Milner, I’ll drive up to Milner with my bike and skis in the back, strap the skis on and bike up to the visitor center and ski down aways, leave the skis and walk back up to the bike and ride down and pick up the skis on the way to the car. If I had a thrasher bike I would just leave it there for a few weeks until they open the road and just ski from the top 11,796 down to the pass 10,750, 4mi.

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
The locals in my area of Colorado say that the base snow depth for the coming Winter per Native Folk Lore is predicted by the height of the Skunk Cabbage Plant. I’m 6’0” and this plant is taller than me! Most of the more normal sized one are in the 4’ - 5’ range. Looks like The Pow could be GREAT.
Looks like another La Niña year. Praying for 150% of normal.

You know as well as I do Tom that you got to get through Mud Season first. In my neck of the woods that ends around Thanksgiving. As in give Thanks that the ground has finally frozen and my car won’t be covered in mud from the dirt county road I’m on.

While I was out doing this for a few days my wife was out for a hike and saw a dude hiking with skis to the pass. Snow line is down to about 3500'
