^^ Nice vid, Cima..While that sort of pulling with the pole is fun , it tends to send the arm uphill ..
What I am really interested in, Cima, is how you all ski 20 inches of unsettled glop on NNN/BC..Or even 8 or 10..
That poling action does seem typical of System gear skier on powder..or probably any snow..

There aren't any secrets about poling action.
However, I may need a bit more refinement.

Just saying that the "open-the-door" pole plant can cause the arm to swing uphill, Cima..no big deal ..soft snow, low angles, matters little probably.. Hands-high also matters little at times..

Cima , watch this vid ..Everyone uses the positive , backhanded pole plants in it..And that's fine ; I am not raggin' on anyone's skiing..Looks like some great fun. Love to ski that with them..but if you watch, you will see that that type of positive plant often causes the hand to drag and pulls the body into the uphill side..That sort of upperbody twist could, at times, be useful, and a times quite the opposite..In soft , deeper , lite snow and low angles, it's not much of an issue, but at times, it could easily get one in trouble pretty fast..

The skier in CIMA's latest video has impeccable technique. I hardly see an "open door" pole plant, even on the helmet cam. His(hers?) hands are in front and the knuckles are forward. He would probably change his poling on steeper terrain, like most advanced to expert skiers. Pro mogul skiers do use a kinda of "open door" pole plant but they are always in the fall line and facing down hill. I could see how that type of pole plant would be detrimental to a intermediate skier who has trouble facing the fall line consistently.
