Musk Ox,, my time, as everyone's, is precious.
Your first reply was an honest one with lots of good questions and I was gearing up to answer them all when I had the time. But then you started going on and on about nipples, derailing the discussion and cheapening it. Making fun of it. You must realize this lessens my eagerness to spend time giving you detailed answers to your questions?

I live in Stoke City. I'm an infinite being with limitless potential, and so are all of you!
Don't expect me to make myself small. Instead make yourselves large. Expand. Believe in yourselves. Keep it pure. Keep the Stoke.
Woah Woah Woah Woah! Who's in Triggertown now? You are not feeling the love and attention the Great Muskie Of the North (temporarily Copenhagen) is giving you here. You are trivializing it. He doesn't shower attention on anyone, you know? This is a great honor. Sit back and read around the forum a bit. You will see. Learning the ways of the Sense of Humour makes for long life and much love to spread around the peoples. Bask in the glow of the Musk, find a path to laughter!

You are a Viking it is clear. All the Great Vikings had great laughs and fun jokes and witty verses. Be the Great Viking you were meant to be!

X-Nip coming to you 2022/2023
I've given him, what, 3 or 4 opportunities to drop the act and just be genuine, and he always goes for the cheap shot. I don't vibe well with people that are unable to be real and has to turn everything into a joke. Not worth my time or energy

I could say the same for the general vibe here lately. I'm not gonna keep pouring energy into this place only for it to be met with childish acting out. I will not be dragged down to that level. So, until some of the triggering turns into breakthroughs, my energy is better spent elsewhere, like skiing. Enjoy your sandbox and do let me know if some expansion happens that will make it worth my time again.
Would you like a tissue?

ALSO I would be very interested how to say the phrase "vibe well" in Bokmål

Sorry for going against the grain here but this guy is a braggart. Making absurd proclamations, wearing only bright red shorts in January, spewing the peace/love drivel, bragging about how hardcore he was when younger...doesn't make him a bad person or a bad skier but it sure is annoying.
Relax, he is sponsored by Fruit of the Loom.

Once again, I should probably just stay quiet and go do something productive…

Really, this has gone a bit too far.
@mikael.oh is a real person. He is in the room.
We are all real people.
It’s easy to slide down a slippery slope and end up somewhere we would not really choose to go.

Is @mikael.oh a bit “weird?” Yes.
So the F am I.

@Woodserson said it well with “We are all a bunch of freeheel weirdos anyway, I embrace the weirdos compared to my own weirdo-ness!

It’s just a fact of life that not all people are going to like all other people.
The thing to avoid is disrespect.
We all have a place in the world.

I try to look at the content, the message, not the envelope it came in.
Personally, I’m likening the energy that @mikael.oh is contributing.
Would he be my BFF? I don’t know.

If you don’t like what he’s putting out, just move on. This isn’t a popularity contest where we all get to vote on who stays on the island and who gets fed to the sharks.
Does @mikael.oh bring some of this on himself? Seems like it.
But that doesn’t mean any of us have to react to that.

He’s doing cool stuff on skis. Seems like that’s about as far as it needs to go.

The soapbox is now available …

What is a soap box? Doesn't Telemark Talk have a "No Speedos" rule?

I suspect that kick wax is better in many circumstances yes but I really don¨t want to faff around with it. I¨d also lose some flexibility since I wouldn¨t be able to change between skating and kick and glide on the fly as easily and quickly as I can with skins.
Kick wax glides, if you want to skate start skating. It actually makes for more seamless transitions.

Like I said, I really don't want to faff around with wax. That's part of why I skate instead of doing classic.

This could be a likely scenario with the Gammes: Maybe I start off on groomed tracks. In one place where I want to explore it starts off with a 10km apporach on groomed tracks. Then I'll skate that. Maybe it gets softer at some point and then I'll switch to the 30mm skins and kick and glide. Maybe I reach a firmer area again and can skate so I switch back. Then I approach a peak and put on either the 30mm akins or 45mm skins depending on terrain and conditions. I reach the summit and have maybe 3000 feet of downhill to look forward to with nothing slowing me down. Once I get further down it might be good to put on the 30mm skins for a while again, and then in the end I'll skate again.
Sounds like you are an Oslo suburban skier- go up north in Norway and "groomed" is not a normal condition. The people in Narvik and Tromso kind of regard the southerners as a wee bit "soft"

Honestly, I agree. I deleted my last post because life's too short and we need more naked skiing.

I dig the energy, I dig the nakedness. I was trying to find an amusing way to ask him to read the room a bit, I think it kind of goes both ways a bit? :D But it is all good. @mikael.oh I'll join you on the groomers on my brand new 195cm Åsnes Wim Høf skis next season.

Nope, not going to happen.
Not saying I¨m gonna choose this over my skate skis for dedicated skate sessions, but I¨m not gonna diversify into multiple BC skis, because there¨s no need. This setup can do everything.

It¨s about simplicity. Going on a-b trips and having a setup that just deals with everything you come across. Not having to plan in advance. Not being bound down by multiple sets of gear. Just taking the train or bus somewhere new and skiing for a day, a weekend, or a week. Traveling on snow, and being ready for anything.

I¨ve done all the extreme stuff. Skiing powder at 100km/h, rappelling into steep couloirs in a whiteout, doing this, doing that. I barely made it out alive, and most of my friends died, one after the other. So I stopped skiiing altogether. Now I¨m making a comeback, but in a much simpler. purer form.

For Tromsø natives, Narvik people are already 'sørlings' – southerners.

Indeed. Which I said (not implying you don’t know I said that).

“Does @mikael.oh bring some of this on himself? Seems like it.

Personally, I appreciate the diversity on the forum. Keeps things interesting and presents me with different ways of seeing things, which I like.
