I’m glad the original poster has enjoyed his Gamme. I salute the young OP for what he is able to accomplish on his Gamme.
However you CANNOT SKI a Gamme downhill off piste down steep terrain. One ski cannot do it all!!! Like my brother @Nitram Tocrut I call BULLSHIT!

I salute you young man, you’re an outstanding athlete, but let me choose the conditions and the track, and the distance, and this 60 year old man will kick your ass with you on Gammes.

I would put thousands of dollars on it.

Sorry, I admire your athletic ability, but give me 2000 feet of vertical, 2 feet of soft, through the woods, and you will not get down! You won’t be there in shorts either!
FWI I love my Gammes

Nice video...

I haven't skiied the Gamme...but if the MT51 is a skinnier version of it, you can get down offpiste in shite snow on a Gamme...but it won't be anything like that video...

There's a reason for a quiver of skis. I can take a pair of FT62 on perfect conditions down thousands of vertical and given the right 360 degree camera produce an equally astounding video...but it would be an illusion. btw, I would gladly race the OP in those spring conditions I am referring to (which is offpiste in the backcountry) on my FT62 vs. the OP on his Gamme. I will be waiting for you at the bottom. LOL

I am impressed that the OP wants 1 ski to do it all... I invite you to come ski in Alaska... I don't think your Gamme will get you very far ...and you will definitely need a shirt.

Hahaha, I read this(before the edit) while walking to work this morning and burst into laughter :)
What did you think of the video? Was it anything like you visualized?
You can do so much more when conditions are a bit better. Open up the stance and really carve. This is just skidding on crap.manmade snow, but still FUN!

And for the rest of you, who said anything about competition? Relax, this is about sharing the stoke!

Nowhere have I claimed that the Gamme is the absolute best option in all conditions. That's not what it's about. It's about going skiing and having a setup that morphs into whatever you need it to morph into so you can focus on the skiing and be in the moment. No endless search for the perfect ski for this and that condition. Just skiing.

I think this single set-up approach is AWESOME, and I'm surprised by the responses it has been getting...

Aren't we all skiing XCD setups because we're seeking relative simplicity?

The OP isn't saying that this is the 'best' (whatever that means) setup for any one specific discipline he's using it for. For him the simplicity of the single setup is the primary goal, and the fact that the set-up can do everything at least somewhat decently makes it the best for him.

I've got my quiver down to my Nansen and a Madshus Fjelltech M44, and if I didn't live less than a kilometer from great groomed tracks I'd likely be down to just the Nansen. The simpler, the better. Minimal footprint = win.

Also, do we really want to frame the ski usage conversation around who can get down something steep in variable snow the most quickly?

Because it definitely won't be anyone from the XCD world...

It looks to me like he’s having a blast, so as far as skiing goes my only issue is my man’s cold nipples.

Edit: he is skiing naked

Fish, I am with you on this one... This guy's a poser. But that's okay, we need some posers to remind us to be humble cause it is somehow ridiculous ... Wim Hof style, hum. Do you really know what Wim Hof is about? But it's okay if for you WH relates to a «style»...

Dear Brothers, it seems we've temporarily relocated to Triggertowm. That's ok. Take some deep breaths and center yourselves and see if that feels better.

I've been telling you since last spring how I ski the Gammes, and when I finally film it and show you, this is the reaction?

Again, it's ok. I'm coming from a place of pure Stoke and Love. Nothing anyone says can change that. I just wish you'd pause for a bit, let the ego soften, and join me in the Stoke.

The Wim Hof Method is about Love. Uncondtitional Love. Practising it makes it easier to stay in that state. To BE Love. That's what it feels like after coming home from a ski in Baywatch Mode. You're on top of the world, a MF P I M P. You spontaneously start dancing in your kitchen You feel Love and Gratitude towards all beings. You see the beauty in everything. You say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Wim Hof style means I'm not an instructor(yet). I'm not trying to pass it off as official WHM instruction. Wim Hof style means that Wim climbed high up on Everest in shorts and open toed sandals, and this is in that style.

If Wim was here right now, he'd say "Right on, Brother!" and give me a big hug.
What I now ask of you, is to consider what it is inside yourselves that keeps you from doing the same?

I'll be here, in the Stoke, with open arms, waiting for you.
