Is 5 minute 1500psi epoxy ok? That's what I have.

Edit: It's done. This site said that 5 minute becomes brittle in the long term, so shouldn't be for permanent mounting jobs.

After all that, I can't believe I mounted one binding about .5cm forward.

the 5-min variety would get too brittle I would expect. I would only use 12-hr if I was using an epoxy for this purpose

There are some really slow epoxy that woodworkers use to fill gaps or pour river tables and such. The slower is preferred since it is less viscous and will fill the gaps better. 5min stuff likely won't penetrate the hole very well unless you really help it in there.

I use epoxy or glue with a filler (wood or finely minced steel wool) occasionally to re-use an iffy screw hole, but I'd be reluctant to rely on it to seal reliably long-term. I'd go with a plastic plug and a drop of epoxy as a minimal fix.
Not sayin' the mix itself won't work, but I'm not inclined to try it.
