Happy Thanksgiving to you Krummholz! That sure looked awesome! Just curious do your Europa have aluminum edges? I have a pair that I think are even older, just trying to get a clue how old.
Sure does look like a great way to spend some time!

The green ones are 1st gen. Yes, alu edges. The blue ones, I believe, are 2nd gen.

Hey Fish, I have 2 pairs of exactly the same Europa you own and if my memory serves me well, I bought a pair when I was still in McGill so that takes me down around 30 years but I might be wrong… but I am sure they are at least 25 years old

Thanks Mr Woodserson. I like the looks of the green a bit better. I’m hoping to take my blue pair for a spin soon!

It was a great way so spend Thanksgiving morning. Yes they have aluminum edges. I had my beer at the car and hoped the Fischer rep showed up so I could ask him if he had ever seen these skis.

I got into it with a Fischer rep at a gas station once about the E99 and E109 and why so few in the N.A. market, etc etc etc. and he had no idea what I was talking about. Nice guy, but clueless.

Does Fischer split their Alpine and Nordic lines to different distributors?

I'm going to be more bullish this year finding snow. I found a couple mile stretch in northern NH this morning. 5" of light fluff on asphalt. Some turns too. 205cm E99 pre-Xtralite was the weapon of choice this morning, though I think the MT51 would've been better (more power with the double camber, the pre-xtralite is less cambered). This ski area is the world famous ball-buster "BEST DAY EVER/WORST DAY EVER" classic grandfather of a mountain, CANNON.

'Krummholz' and 'Woodserson', I'm feeling the sin of envy, here in Toronto with just a few cm on the ground, soon to melt (and nary a hill worth skinning up for hundreds of km).
'Krummholz', if your Honda Element has lots of life left in it (as it probably has, because it's a Honda) have you considered getting an E-Camper? It'd be a fine 1-2 person all-season rig.
