If we are smuggling my vote is for the Vermont/Quebec border, so much good skiing!FourthCoast wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:50 amI think we need to plan an expedition to the US/CN border. Maybe where Saskatchewan meets Montana. I am imagining one pulk full of US goods going north and an identical pulk of CN ski equipment going south. We ski out to the border and swap in the middle of the night.

I just had a 'The Untouchables' (1997) flashback....FourthCoast wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:50 amI think we need to plan an expedition to the US/CN border. Maybe where Saskatchewan meets Montana. for contrast,
I just ordered a snowboard and bindings from Germany to the USA,
for my son for Xmas.
UPS was the carrier.
Order was placed 11/04, and items arrived 11/08.
No extra duties/fees...
Why order from Germany?
A vendor there had 20/21 model stuff still in-stock at heavily discounted pricing.
Even with $80 (USD) in shipping, it was WAY better than any pricing I could find from a USA vendor,
and I didn't want to wait for a Black Friday sale, where all stuff might be sold-out...

Just so the FBI person assigned to me doesn't get the wrong idea, this was a joke. I have no interest in smuggling anything, anywhere.fisheater wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 6:29 pmIf we are smuggling my vote is for the Vermont/Quebec border, so much good skiing!FourthCoast wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:50 amI think we need to plan an expedition to the US/CN border. But I got interested in CN/US border security and started reading. I guess there are sensors along a lot of the border these days so it is not an unguarded as I thought.
I was also surprised to learn that the Michigan/Canada border is actually the second longest, by US state. The longest, by a wide margin, is Alaska.

Hey, that FBI agent probably monitors half a dozen people! He/she/whatever may have overlooked you.

Seems like a good deal. Can you share which vendor you ordered from in Germany?
