Well you're more continental than maritime like us, so you may avoid the New England Special: Snow followed at the tail end with Freezing Rain, then maybe some Rain, and then the temperature drops to the single digits and several inches of sweet sweet powder are locked underneath 1/2" of ice crust. Makes for good base building material though. If this is familiar to you, you've got crust. If not... then you are ok maybe for another ten years.エイダン.シダル wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 10:13 pmMaybe I'm talking out of my ass about crust... I'm much more experienced in northern Southern Ontario (that sounds ridiculous, but it means north of Toronto, south of Sudbury, west of Ottawa). Most of my skiing has been in forests, as nothing's above the trees here, but lakes. Do your lakes get crusty? Ours would then too. Maybe the Nansen are the ticket...

Mentioned this in another thread, but figured I should mention it here so that hopefully someone here grabs them and tells us how they are...

Too bad.. I was there last week but I had the chance to have a look at the new FT62 and they are definitely an improvement, for me, as compared to the previous model. As @@Åsnes1922 mentioned in another thread, the new FT62 is more cambered, is way stiffer underfoot and they really feel stiffer overall. I guess that should translate in better XC and they might be less likely to sink in deeper snow. I was tempted but finally did not have an episode of AGASjohnnycanuck wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 10:05 amMentioned this in another thread, but figured I should mention it here so that hopefully someone here grabs them and tells us how they are...

I compared them with the previous FT that was still in store and they looked similar but the shovels felt stiffer like the rest of the ski. I did not get them because I really have to free my quiver before I make any move… and maybe family pressureWoodserson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 2:37 pmWhat about the rocker profile? And what about you? Did you get the SverdrupS?

Do you think there is a big difference between my red/white FT 62 in 189 cm and the 196 cm Xplore? I mean someone has to test these new skis out.
