Sleeping in the van this winter was part of the plan. But the timing might not be very good. The baby is due for February. And since it looks like snow won't be here anytime soon, I'm not sure the woods will be interesting until... February.
That looks cool... I don't mind paying for cool stuff...!

I can almost guarantee you I'll be in the woods by the end of this month. Lake Ontario is going to shit snow on the western Adirondacks eventually... it does every year near end of December, and I'll be ready for it!
No sense in paying for much in the Adirondacks. I can give you a laundry list of free stuff that is cool. There are plenty of wife friendly trails.
