@Axamer i mounted my 188 Falketind 62 pins on Balance Point per Åsnes’ recommendation. I have skied my FT for a few years, lots of conditions. I believe the position pins on BP to be a very good mounting point.

fisheater I believe in fact that this is the right way to mount them and these are the specifications that I gave to the technician. Question of feeling it seems that they are just too far behind ... But they may be in the right place. I can send the picture for comparison with your skis

I just checked my 196 FT62 and there is the same distance as you. I will check With my friend where did I mount the 188 last year. The 196 were ode-drilled but I mounted the 188... both my 196 and your 188 were mounted in the same shop

Axamer, I see you’ve got all three mounted on a riser- do you find it beneficial? I’ve got my 188 mounted on deck with a cable Voile- lots of fun, great turn ability.

We’re heading to the ski hill today, going to try my FT62’s out there for a couple of hours for amusement...

Hello @Inspiredcapers In fact all of my off piste skis with 75mm bindings are mounted with a riser 10mm. I have always followed the recommendations of the technicians in the store. I was told that it made a more solid assembly, that it allowed the ski boot to rub less on the snow so less resistance and that it was easier to initiate turns in the direction of edge to edge. For all these reasons I always keep this type of assembly on my skis. I think that makes sense.

@Nitram Tocrut Thanks for checking this out for me. I had the binding installed at Cordée Laval. I went back to see the technician this afternoon and he did confirm to me that he had mounted the binding according to the tipping point or pin point as prescribed by Asnes.

I was able to try skiing again on Saturday in dreamy conditions in the Intercentre trail in the Grise mountain (firm bottom + falling snow which constantly renewed the wonderful carpet and blue wax). My sensations of sliding with the ski were sublime ... But there is still a little doubt ...
