Can confirm.

Nansen and Gamme walked into a bar...
 :o
Well now I know how they are built ;)
This is the first time I see a photo of those bars ripped out.
I hope you get your new pair before your planned longer trips.

Ah, man, it's really bad timing. We were going away this weekend on a mini-expedition to an abandoned Victorian copper mine up a valley a couple of hours inland... I'm not missing a month of this winter when conditions are so nice. I've got tomorrow to sort something out... grrr.

Wow, you out-did me!
Sorry to see that.

How old are the boots?
The construction is really surprising. Just an almost straight shaft into the sole.
Relies almost entirely on friction to keep from pulling the bar out of the sole.

The busted out ones I've seen had a little "U" shaped end on the ends of the bar. I wonder if these sheared at the bend to the "U", or if they're now manufactured with just the straight extension for retension.?

I’ve cracked two boot bars on NNN BC in 30 years
I’m going out to buy my third pair of NNN BC boots today.
You can ski on a cracked bar for a little while, but I have ripped the bar out of the 1st pair and the anchoring is not inspiring.
