Try Tele finishes from parallel initiations (hybrid turns )just to try and keep the same feel for weight distribution..
Use a push/pull lead change (scissoring) to try and stay more compact and to sit down/back and to be more active on both feet..

hey tigerstripe,

I ski pcmr/canyons, taught telemark for one season a long time ago and still enjoy getting out with people. I will be in utah soon and will spend some time with ya if ya like.

What I like to do is go as low as possible, not really psia technique, but that will keep you from pitching forward while feeling the fronts of your boots, and concentrate on keeping your torso square to the hill, banking your uphill shoulder into the hill makes coming all the way around into the next turn almost impossible on anything except a shallow, groomed run.

send a pm if you would like to get out sometime.

Tighten your stance and sit, figuratively, your back ski. Make sure you feel the pressure in front. When you overweight the rear ski and make it be the driving force it will make your turn super quick. Keep you ass over your rear heel (rather than throwing your rear leg back or front leg forward) and lean on your rear ski with your hands low and shoulders front and down the fall line. Keep your head quiet. Like the bikini girl up and to the left. Or Dan Whitman on old gear . Skip the first 2.5 minutes.

I've been working on alot of conditioning lately. I've been up 6 times so far this season.
I'm linking the turns up quite consistently now. A buddy chased me with a camera and filmed me and when I watched it, I think I looked like I am a bit too far forward and not getting my butt over my rear heel as much.
My bindings are Hammerheads in the 4th position back (more active).
I haven't gotten the video yet to edit it and post it. When I do, I will post it and then toss it to the wolves.

Either way, I have been having fun!

Fun is what it's all about, and glad you got some video. We don't always realize what we're doing until we see video of ourselves.

I assume when you say too far forward, you're talking about your shoulders, and are likely hunching over your skis. If that's the case, really focus on bringing those shoulders back, and then your hips forward. Keep your focus out in front of you as well to help this. If you're looking down at the ground or your skis, you'll tend to get into that hunchback position. Butt to heel will also be easier if you're upright.

^^A tip on that: you can actually use your uphill hand/arm as a sort-of blocking mechanism..that is always bring that up hill hand forward ( do not let it ever drag it behind you --fundamental to all skiing ) and over your uphill boot at least-- over your DH boot is best, between the legs is fine..now twist your upperbody so as to line it up with the direction of that uphill arm.. This makes it far more difficult to make that common error of hunching over the front of your skis and it gives you the twisting anticipation you need to easily and smoothly initiate the next turn..You are now facing the fall line; it's a big deal..If you just do this and tighten your stance, you'll show everyone how it's done! :D If you feel yourself solidly on the boots and you are twisted like this, there's now way you can be "hunching" forward much..Face the fall line (direction of uphill arm pointed over DH boot /knee) and work on staying tight-- maybe 5 or 6 inches of space between the boots..You'll be a pro!

^^ You are shooting for the classic "C" -over-skis shape facing the fall line..It's that "pinch-an-orange-in-your-DH-ribcage shape" ..Think of that uphill blocking arm as being in a plane that your upperbody must never cross..

OK. here is the video my buddy shot.
It's chase video. This was later in the day and I was going to have him do a side shot video, but after this run I was starting to blow my turns and decided to call it a day.
