this is an old video, but it reminds me of everything we did on XC racing skis as a teenager. we were fearless on the downhill trails using our XC racing gear. no edges, no ankle support( skate boots hadn't really been invented when I was racing)

Ive watched a few of those. Cool concept, "cross country cross" "XCX". Skill and intensity. The hill sprinting is impressive, let alone the pumps and jumps.
They did a similar event for a while on ice skates too, cracked ice I think it was called.

I think I would have to opt out of a Nordix event...I simply don't bounce the way I used to. but I am planning to enter a GS race series in Feb
