Suggestions for some soft shell pants?

Have you got any experience with Lundhags?
They look the part, very expensive, but are they worth it at all?

Several years ago I bought Black Diamond Dawn Patrol Tour pants and they were my go-to do everything back country pant. They're still usable and have held up well but I've been concerned that they are so old that I might want something newer, just in case. Being a big fan of Schoeller fabrics, I was drawn to the Mammut Base Jump Touring pant but at $300 I was happy to wait until I could find them on sale. This fall they showed up at Campsaver at 50% off so I grabbed them. The fit is a little trimmer (more European?) than the BD but they fit me well. Lots of pockets, crampon patches, internal gaiters and side vents are nice. Probably be my new favorite now.

I like Tierra.Ace pants. They have waterproof cuffs, knees and ass, but everywhere else they are really nice and thick(ish) soft shell fabric.
Cuffs can be extended to fit over large ski boots, but they fit pretty well even when non-extended.
The only thing that could be better is the fit in the crotch, but it's not a problem when they sag a little bit.

I really like the Revolution Race GPX Pro pants, similar style to Fjallraven/Lundhags but at a more reasonable price. A mix of polycotton and soft shell material, they are super hard wearing, breathable and a really nice cut for skiing/hiking. They only sell direct through the website, but the sizing is pretty accurate in my experience. The ankle cuff is snug on my Alfa Skarvet, not sure how they would be on the Excursions...

Thanks for the info on the Revolution Racer stuff-never heard of this brand before- very competitively priced and is getting very good reviews!

I've got a pair of their Nordic skates and a friend has one of their jackets (Spreke, maybe?) which he's very happy with. The quality of their stuff seems very good, the styling isn't quite to my taste but a lot of people seem to like it! I think that, like Fjallraven, you pay the "Scandi tax" for the label, but I do like that both those companies have a focus on sustainability which many others do not.

The last winter was so bad (absolutely no snow) in my area that I lost my interest to even visit this forum, but this winter I can ski again and that has renewed my interest in Telemark Talk too

I bought the current Outdoor Research Trailbreaker pant for everyday Nordic ski touring- I am now on my second season with them.

They are fantastic- I wear one-piece merino longjohns underneath and usually ski with a flannel shirt overtop.

I use suspenders with this pant like Tom.

They have snow-shedding and abrasion-resistant lower legs- including re-inforced scuff guards.

I don't have any kind of extensive experience with soft-shell touring pants- have owned and worn out many pairs over many years. These are the best touring pants I have owned.

BTW- the OR "one-size-fits-all" suspenders are made large enough to accommodate Andre the Giant. They just barely work for me at the shortest length and I am not a small man.

For reference- I am 5'10" (178cm) tall and weigh 178lbs (81kg) and am wearing the size medium.
They are trim- but not tight- around my thighs and are very comfortable- perfect fit.

I always wear a full gaiter- the Northwoods is very hard on the lower leg of even the most durable pants.
