Advice for telemark skis on hardpacck

This is a whole can of worms. Which casino is best in deep snow? What’s the glide like on a casino on hardpack with a 35mm mohair kicker skin? Magnums? Cables? Will I be able to handle a full 500-square-meter casino in icy conditions given that it doesn’t have full wrap steel and it’s a building full of gamblers?

In my experience, it really depends on the casino. If we're talking a couple rows of slot machines, sure, leather and magnums might work. But if we're talking full on roulette tables, poker rooms, and off-track betting, you'd be crazy to use Nordic striding gear. Gotta go NTN with a very active binding and something like a TX Comp. But YMMV since, after all, this thread is complete nonsense.

That's right @Smitty. Anyway, here come @Nitram Tocrut and @lilcliffy to tell us that the published sizing guides are "crazy talk" and the only casino worth considering is a full three-story ancient-Rome-themed gambling palace with a fountain and concierge parking, a full block in length.

I never owned a casino, but I did own a Chateau: a Ford Econoline Chateau. my only regret was that every chateau should have a fireplace, mine did not. the chateau was horrible in any kind of snow. and based on this experience, I highly recommend the Atomic Advantage 97's for tele skiing hardback

Touche Rod, Casino was an iconic ski film. I always preferred Goodfellas, but Casino definitely had its merits.

I watched the first half of Casino last night, I followed the arc to the point when things were about to become undone. Because I prefer films about winners, I pivoted to Cody Townsend's "The Fifty" project on Youtube. note that lines completed in Casino are considerably different that those in The Fifty. I am waiting for the YouTube film release of "How I spent the winter in the Wasatch living in my 1983 Cadillac"

What kind of wax should I expect to need for the casino? Do I still follow LilCliffy's Nordic Backcountry Touring Waxing Guide, or do I need to adjust it for the slippery people and cold stares one gets in the casino? I'm not sure if a full ironed-in polar base will be good enough. On the other hand, I don't want things to get too sticky-fingered, whether or not klister is involved. I'm not sure I want to have any skins in the game either.

Also, what techniques should I focus on when skiing down the slot canyons in the casino? Are they wide enough to carve, or is it just survival skiing with wedge and step turns?

And in the casino's restaurant, should I French fry or pizza?

I once got kicked out of a casino for using klister and skins at the same time. I'd be careful with that one.

I ski Rossi Experience 88's with NTN. They have a 16m radius and are plenty wide for any resort powder you may encounter. They even hold an edge on east coast boilerplate... an all around fun ski. I like them so much that I'm probably going to mount up a pair with alpine bindings so I that can really put the ski to work.
