Hello Gareth. Sorry I didn't even try the black ones. I read somewhere that red was best and had some here so put them on from the get-go and didn't think about it since. I imagine any difference is slight? Have fun. Tom

I'm just using the standard black flexors as well, haven't felt a need for the stiffer ones! Using Alfa Skarvet on Lundhags T-skates, they come pre-drilled for different bindings.

Mounted with boot centered on effective edge of skate:
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Re: the Nordic Ice Skating Thread
Those look fast! You got any ice there?
We usually have 4-6 weeks of good lake ice before its buried under snow, but not this year. Missed the skating season completely, unfortunately. Great skiing, though.
I tend to think of good fat biking and nordic skating when the skiing isn't so great, and vice versa.

Lundhags 55cm and men's flexors here... Heavenly conditions for skating here in December... With all the networks of rivers polished like a mirror... Wish I'd taken pictures...

Wow! it looks great!Montana St Alum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 20, 2020 9:56 amI didn't even know this was a "thing".
Very interesting! Recently I found a great casino website called platinum play casino https://canadiancasinos-online.com/plat ... casino.php and you can't imagine how it changed my life. Now I earn about about 200$ per day what is much more that my wage at my regular job. Try it too and tell what you think.
I suppose that if the skates are designed such that, once the NNN BC is mounted, it's in a displaced side to side position, there would be a left and right skate.

What are the advantages of going long do you think?
Going to buy some Zandstra Blades.

I am, of course, right between the sizing recommendations for the 45 and the 48. Total beginner, though, I'm guessing it's not so critical?
Edit: Got some advice from the shop and they "strongly recommended" going for the shorter length to start off, so that's what I did. Really excited to get going. Still not enough snow here to hit the hills on wooden shoes, but it's really cold and we have lakes galore, so...

Great thing you’re a total beginner, you’ll be a natural, because Danes are known to be natural skater!Musk Ox wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 7:17 amWhat are the advantages of going long do you think?

Re: the Nordic Ice Skating Thread
Like skis, longer will be more stable, shorter will be more fun. Luc Mehl advises the longest possible, but he seems to skate a lot of sea ice which I guess is more rough and choppy. I went for 45 over 50cm Lundhags, happy that I did.Musk Ox wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 7:17 amWhat are the advantages of going long do you think?
