Re: "The Donald"
Does the presence of pipe bombs, guns and Molotov cocktails give a clue about the difference between a peaceful demonstration and domestic terrorism? How are the police to know who is a deadly threat, when all are white, and invade our legislative offices?

Re: "The Donald"
I’m not discounting everything you said, but I do have to question the “execution” statement.
Execution implies intent. By your own description of shooter action, I have to question intent.
She was there illegally (not as a peaceful citizen) / wrong place / wrong time.
I question the value of further comment, but I already have, so here goes nothing...
MSA, everyone’s entitled to his opinion. I have mine, you have yours.
Through the last four years it seems like not many minds have been changed.
I simply can’t understand the tolerance for Trump and most of what he has done and stands for.
We can talk about individual events, but I see a bigger picture — I just wish we could all find some way back to the middle.
The last four years (especially) makes me think of the religious wars that have existed in the Middle East forever.
Has any side won? Could any side win? In most large conflicts, there is no way one side is going to have enduring victory.
It’s just a reality that different people are going to have different points of view. And those individuals will associate with like minded people. And thinking gets myopic.
People who tend towards xenophobia don’t want to have a global view. People with a global view can’t understand why there isn’t more tolerance and why conflict can’t be resolved. I’m not sure what my point is, but in a way it all seems kind of hopeless.
WWII united our country in a common goal. A few generations later, that’s evaporated.
You would think something like a global pandemic might bring people together, but apparently not. How bad does it have to get before we all see each other as brothers and sisters?
Personally, I don’t really like snowmobiles, but a lot of people do. When I’m out skiing and there they are, I do my best to smile and wave, because: 1. Usually, they have just as much right to be there as I do, and 2. I figure if I’m giving attitude, that’s what I’m going to get back.
And a lot of times, they are friendly people.
Unless I see what looks like evil, I try and live and let live.
The road to Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, and McCarthyism is a slippery slope.
I think that slope is littered with people like Trump.
But that’s just me — you’re free to think what you like.

And with people like the "centrist" Joe Manchin, apparently.
Democrat Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), who most claim is a “moderate” or a “centrist,” cheered the political censorship, writing on Twitter: “Thank you @twitter for taking this action. We must come together as a country to heal and find a common path forward.”
All we need to do is silence all who oppose you and Joe and the rest of the Democrats, so that we can all march happily into the sunset, in lock step.

Re: "The Donald"
They'll be changed in the Gulags.
I remember the immortal words of Kyle Jurek, a paid Bernie Sanders organizer:
Jurek suggested the use of gulags for "re-education" of Trump supporters and praised political labor camps. He said gulags have been misunderstood and were actually "a lot better" than described, noting people were paid "a living wage" and allowed conjugal visits.
"There's a reason Joseph Stalin had gulags, right?" Jurek said. "Actually, gulags were a lot better than what the CIA has told us that they were. Like, people were actually paid a living wage in gulags, they had conjugal visits in gulags, gulags were actually meant for like re-education."
But we are fine slipping down SOME slopes!
Stare too hard into the abyss, and the abyss stares back. To paraphrase

Re: "The Donald"
And then there's Kamala, who, when asked about the riots this last summer...
You know, the mostly peaceful ones that resulted in almost $2 BILLION in damage and dozens dead, said:
“They’re not going to stop. They’re not going to stop,” she told him. “This is a movement, I’m telling you. They’re not gonna stop. And everyone beware because they’re not gonna stop. They’re not gonna stop before Election Day and they’re not going to stop after Election Day. And everyone should take note of that. They’re not gonna let up AND THEY SHOULD NOT.”
Meanwhile, the future:

https://consortiumnews.com/2021/01/09/b ... ial-media/Did you know that Biden has often boasted about being the original author of the US Patriot Act?
The first draft of the civil rights-eroding USA PATRIOT Act was magically introduced one week after the 9/11 attacks. Legislators later admitted that they hadn’t even had time to read through the hundreds of pages of the history-shaping bill before passing it the next month, yet somehow its authors were able to gather all the necessary information and write the whole entire thing in a week.
This was because most of the work had already been done. CNET reported the following back in 2008:......
https://www.commondreams.org/views/2021 ... bal-divideTrump's ban is just the latest instance in a growing wave of exclusions by Twitter and Facebook of users who espouse political views outside the mainstream, whether on the right or the left. In addition, the tech giants have been tinkering with their algorithms to make it harder to find such content—in what amounts to a kind of pre-censorship.
But the critical issue in a democracy is: who gets to decide if political speech is unreasonable when it falls short of breaching hate and incitement laws?
"I really have had enough of illogical detraction by association as a way of avoiding logical argument by an absurd extension of ad hominem argument to third parties."

Re: "The Donald"
This is the perspective of a Russian national who now lives in Canada. He's the editor of Warnewsupdates:
"WNU Editor: Just finished being on a Russian late-night radio show discussing what is happening in Washington DC right now.
Talk about optics before the inauguration.
16,000 thousand armed National Guard soldiers around a completely fenced-off Capital building. 5,000 more in reserve. Total of 21,000 armed soldiers drafted in for Biden's inauguration
Throw in DC police, FBI, Secret Service, and God only knows how many more law enforcement officers.
And all because a few hundred stormed the Capital Building last week breaking a few windows and doors, loitering in the halls and elsewhere, ransacking a few offices, stealing some furniture, documents, and office equipment.
Rioters who are now under arrest and deservedly facing serious jail-time.
This is not a government that is afraid of its own people.
This is a government that is terrified of them."
Meanwhile, we are being lectured to by the Russian opposition leader, the German Chancellor and other leaders around the world on "Freedom of Speech".
Even Uganda is shutting down Facebook and Twitter for their propensity to interfere in the flow of information!
Three Multibillion dollar U.S. corporations just shut down Parler, a competitor to Twitter (itself a cesspool of calls for violence) - BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO CENSOR USERS! Let that sink in. The Fascists are busy shutting it down in the U.S. But they've been working on that for decades, since the introduction of Political Correctness. You can't say that, you can't hear that, you can't event think that!

Sounds like you are shouting fire in a crowded theater; the court determined limit of free speech.
What happened, did you get kicked off twitter, so now you want to spew your vitriol here?.

Re: "The Donald"
No, never been on Twitter. But none of that makes any sense. It's a classic word salad.
Besides, the courts are never done deciding these things and the matter is currently in the court in the guise of civil anti-trust litigation in the case of Parler. It's also a legislative issue involving Section 230 legislation that is 20 years old and under bipartisan attack. That will likely fail, though, given that these companies own legislators, not voters.
"A guy walks into a bar and sits between Bernie Sanders and AOC, watching TV. As he sits down, there's a guy on the news standing on a ledge. He says "I bet $10 he'll jump". Bernie and AOC take the bet and sure enough, he jumps. They go to pay the guy and he laughs and says "I can't take your money. I saw this on the news earlier and he jumped". Both Bernie and AOC say, "yeah, we saw it too. We just didn't think he'd jump again"
That's the thing about Lefties and Socialism. No matter how many times they see the policies fail, they just don't think they'll fail again! And they always do. City after city are ground down by these policies. Baltimore, San Francisco, NYC, Portland, Seattle, and now Minneapolis (burned down in mostly peaceful protests) to name a few have been turned into shit-holes thanks to these policies and now we'll try them nation wide. Point it out, show the statistics, the numbers, the costs in $$ and human lives, and it's always "spewing vitriol".
