The lonely bear with his lonely TeleSteph... We stayed in the lower part of the mountain today to avoid that dust-over-concrete stuff. Sorry, I knew she had the camera... I couldn't help striking a KTB pose... : )

Haha... not a knight - my family crest. Lucky for me my surname is also German slang for a short, fat man and nearly impossible for Americans to spell.

Don't let that Freeheelwilly guy scare you away, there are plenty of good times and people in the park.

Most Montrealers head for the High Peaks. It's really beautiful but can be a bit on the crowed side. It's a big park though, if you go, don't limit yourself to that area. Lots to do and see elsewhere.

Hey, how'd that dude get in the tree? Must have some ups.

Montrealers don't know shit!

The Eastern Townships here, just north of the VT border, are a true paradise for backyard XCD skiers. You just have to explore a bit. The woods are still not skiable with the new snow, which probably gonna melt with the next few warmer days. Those kickers are really cool. Gives you like 20% more traction than scales, without any noticeable weight gain. Perfect for colder snow like yesterday... And they fit in your pockets. (I never bring a backpack or anything on my day trips. I like my light skiing to be LIGHT... : )

Time for some lonely XC in the woods now, as the slopes will be infested with alpine-touring yuppies from Montreal again this week-end...

Is there much public land up there?

I've never been across Lake Champlain, your pictures are making me want to go.

Sutton looks like a really cool resort too. I've never heard of it until you mentioned it.

Keep it up 'Lonely Bear' - it looks like it will be a week or two before the snow returns here.

First time skiing with the 6 month pregnant wife this year... That's why I love XCD so much: You just get out of your house, put your skis on and you get unlimited turns anytime of the day. For free. Right in your backyard, no need for a stupid car... Then get back inside by the fireplace for a hot chocolate, Christmas music (A Charlie Brown Christmas or Sinatra) and a shot of Triple Sec... (Which translates to: Who needs a boring day job in the city..?)

This is my favorite one yet.

Can't wait to ski with my wife.

She would be jealous to see these pictures... one of the baby (she wants one), two of the skiing.

I'm hoping the thread I put up the other day motivated her to ski! :D

She doesn't know about your secret TT life? : )
You can have it all if you want... The baby and the skiing...
Just quit your job and you'll have time for everything... 8-)

No, she hates ski forums. Once in a while she'll peek over my shoulder to see what I'm looking at.

Babies... not so easy for everyone. And it is very expensive to adopt.

Skiing, I have tons of time right now, just no snow! Cato didn't come through for me... I'm thinking I'm going to have to venture out next weekend or the one after. I think the wife is ready to ski - it's only been 3 weeks from a back surgery though, so I'm a little scared to take her. I'm sure she could ski, but a fall could mean re-injury!

Quit my job? Nah... most of the time I really like my job. Sometimes I'm bored or distracted though... can't help it, I have many varied interests.
