T1's from early 2000's gave up the ghost yesterday. Probably 300-500 days. Was hoping these would outlast my tele skiing days....

Small ding on the "peak" of the bellows tore down into the "valley" across the entire bellows. Was able to ski the rest of the day with bottom of the boot providing support!

Sugru is not going to fix this!

concur, surgru is not going to fix that. but your pic reminds me of the split I had in the cold air intake tube of my 928 this summer while in Montana. in my case, Gorilla tape lasted 3,000 miles home and I sourced a set of replacement tubes. catastrophic failure with no fix I'm afraid

finally got around to applying the Sugru to my boot. I pulled the liner and applied a piece from the inside out, pushing it through the hole, then applied a piece from the outside to connect with inside piece. it was easy to work with, but will be interesting to see how it cures and stands up to use. I won't win any art class awards, but its on there now...

Waterproof Cordura has a Urethane backing, and is a nylon material itself. If you got like 1000D or the Balistic Nylon it might give you a good patch if you use that adhesive. Could possibly do one on the inside and one on the outside.
I like this idea, and...(never done this but often thought it) you could sew it on. drill quite small holes away from wound and sew cloth with un-waxed dental floss. Or similar. Then apply urethane to threads as well as to cordura.

But...I believe Pbax is polyethelyne. Again not done yet, but I imagine my boot repairs involving hot-melt.

Rooting for the Sugu.

Polyethylene usually requires a flame to prep the surface for bonding.

after a few days, the Sugru on my boot seems to be fully cured. its got a hard-ish finish to it now, but flexes when I push the boot on its bellows. now the question is: what will happen when it meets the metal edge of a ski?

The timing of this thread was perfect, the bellows of my T1’s were really worn down but had not wore thru yet. So I ordered up some sugru, here’s my repair. As bauerb said earlier, have to see how they hold up to ski edges.

I see you went with the understated black color... I ordered the neon color multi-pack. I used a bright color because I figured it would be easier to monitor the wear with such a bright color.

Well my fix was not permanent, the sugru fell off on the first day skiing the boots.
