It's such a great color in person, pictures don't do it justice.

Congratulations!

ugh, just tried to step into the bindings with my Scarpa TXpros. I got one ski to secure to the boot 1 time, but then couldn't do it again. the other ski I can't get on at all. the boots fit my Freerides just fine. do the Outlaws have any adjustability? the claw that grips the duck butt looks off my just a little bit, like it needs another 1/2 cm.

ok, I just played around with tour mode. in tour mode, both boots snap in easily. after flipping from tour to locked, I was able to get a boot into both bindings, but it is not at all easy on my kitchen floor...can only imagine on snow. maybe they will loosen up?

If you don't mind taking the time, measure the duck butt lengths on both boots and both binding lengths.
You're the second one to post this observation. I'd be real interested to see what you come up with.

I just added a comment above. boot fits easily in tour mode, then I was able to get them stepped in in locked mode, but it requires surgeon like precision, or magic to get it right. when you step in "right" its easy. any deviation from "perfect" equals total fail

Here's that thread. IDK if this will help.
Maybe with some practice (I'm just trying to be optimistic).

You may want to give the shop a call and ask them if they have any insight?

Also, I know you know how to step into these, so I'm not trying to insult your intelligence.
I found this and it does look like it's a pretty tight fit.

I measured the duck bill to butt at 7". at least the bindings work fine in tour mode, so my fall back position would be to snap in using tour, then lock down. not exactly friendly, but works. otherwise it may be practice. I'll call Eric Fey who mounted them and ask him what he thinks

thanks for the vid. looks effortless....

it may be more difficult because I opted for brakes. see the link below to article about how brakes make it much harder to get into bindings ....the brakes on my skis may have a short life...I'll see how things shake out when I really start using them

I spoke with Erik Fey about my struggles to get into the Outlaws. first thing we did was confirm that my 7" duck bill was in spec. next we talked about the fine art of stepping in to the Outlaw. seems that if you touch the duck butt claw a little bit and then try to step down, it won't work. you need the claw fully vertical then step down in one motion. I tested this on my bench and it works. I also mentioned to him that I was thinking of filing down the "ground side" of the butt to give it a little bit of entry angle. he thought that was fine as long as you don't mess with the top of the butt where the claw grabs. I will probably do some filing...

I would wait a bit to see if technique solves the problem. Also if you do some filing, I'd be careful to make sure there's plenty of material left to support the duckbutt structure. You sure don't want to undercut it so much that it fails. I expect you know that, but my Marine drill instructor told me never to assume! That was 4 decades ago, but you don't forget that!
