Do you guys lease from them? Or they just don't care if you ski out there?

Mostly in Vermont there has been a tradition of open lands....Last 15- 20 years many transplants have been posting as do some Vermonters trying to get back at them....Posting land ain't the answer.....But where we ski there are no posted signs nor are there very many people!!!!! Still we met at least 5 new people out there last year a huge increase!!!! Boys are working on going into the interior by different routes to make finding the goods harder but hey....most anyone out there is a good person by definition....TM

We never used to care much about people being on our land for something like hiking or skiing.

It was only hunting that was ever an issue, and we let people hunt as long we knew who it was and they asked us permission.

I'm not sure if the landowner can be held liable for someone getting hurt on their property? That may be a concern in some cases. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

These days I don't even mess around with private land. We have so much state land and easements in NY it isn't worth bothering someone about it. My only wish is for more in the western part of the state.
