I've had some fine leather double boots, but I dunno about buying a shell 2 or 3 sizes too big and relying on foam to fix the fit. Rather go with a dedicated double in my correct size. Such a thing in an Alaksa would be plush!

Thinner liners available, won't make toe boxes so tight if you are invested in going this way-

@Johnny
I know this is an old thread, but you are one of the big downhill on NNN BC guys. So was this a passing interest, or is it a quiver worthy addition? I think it would be great for a multi day tour, but what does Johnny reach for the Pinky Double or the Alfa Guard GTX (I hope I got that right, I am very pleased with my Alaska)???
Just curious

Fish, the main idea here was to have a pair of ULTRA-warm xcD boots. For the very cold early mornings where I would sweat a lot hiking the mountain for the very first tracks and then freeze to death waiting in line for the first chair.

I already had 5-6 pairs of fine Italian and Norwegian DOUBLE boots, but none of them compared to what an Alaska Double could potentially be. They sure delivered!

While the Watermelons are awesome, I now have fixed the problem by eliminating the root cause: I simply don't ski when it's just too cold anymore. (Getting older or simply wiser here?) No more subantarctic expeditions for me! (Read: the backyard) Yep, that does mean that my ski season is down to only about 150 days every year. Which is definitely wiser for this aging body... 8-)
