The NNN/SNS makes us easy while carrying the skis, too.
Thus, it'll let your hand free when you traverse wilderness.
In addition, the overall lightness of the NNN/SNS skis would rescue you from pains in your biceps.
On the other hand, the protrusions of the 3-pin sometimes become pet peeves when not only you carry the skis but you load/unload cars with them. From a viewpoint of safety, watch out if you see children playing around nearby.
With the 3-pins, we would have never seen such a neat packing as the following picture:

GREAT vid CIMA! Is that you? I was curious to see if the Epoch were a bit too large for downhill on NNN... I'd like to hear someone comment on this... According to your video, it doesn't seem to be problematic at all...!

Cima, you should leave such bad snow for pinners! And what is that HUGE ski the first skier is on ? Much fatter than the Epochs! Here's where you tell us that NNN/BC is perfect for 100mm skis underfoot ?
Yes, your vid is of skiing somewhat roughed-up snow, but I notice it's quite settled as NNN will flail and flop
in snow of any depth other than fluff.
Often we sneak away to ski here..but, no NNN allowed-- for safety reasons..
No wait, I see one up above, hung up in the bushes!

^^ Yea, but, as I mentioned before, the differences are marginal..The BC version is, no doubt, a tiny bit tighter and more laterally stable. A bit bigger bar and clamp..That's about it..Screws etc appear to be identical..
But perhaps someone with the BC version could do the same basic twisting "test" I did on my XC skis and post the results for us ?

The skier in the video is a mountain guide I know very well. He is an excellent skier in both AT and telemark.
Yes, from my point of view, the combination of the Epoch and the Jokulen seems a little vulnerable for that kind of snow.
If snow is powder, there is no problem.
I would choose the Fischer E109 for such bad snow.

Your contention needs supports showing a distinct difference between 3-pin and NNN (SNS)/BC during skiing.

Here, ski the sastrugi on pins!! We do!
I guess I don't really consider most any snow to be that bad ..but a gear fit is another thing!
