Marlow,
The Falketind has more rocker than the E-88. It is also less cambered. It will be shorter in 180 than your E-88 in 179. So I guess I am recommending a 180 IF 179 worked for you in the E-88.
If you need the numbers for rocker I could pull the tape measure out. If you have any specific questions I would be happy to answer to the best of my ability. I’ve been skiing the Falketind a couple of seasons now.
Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)
Thanks all and Fisheater !! I believe i am more interested in Rabb so maybe the 180 ? Really dont want to deal with all this international stuff so trying to work with Neptune. I got a response from place in UK and Canada for gear already.
Per johhny I was looking for the 40mm race skins and the 74mm access skins but they won't be getting these
Per Norseman in CA local users seem to be enamoured with the 58mm mohair (back-country use) & 45mm nylon (trail use)
I am not into using wax other than annual hot wax but maybe need to learn more about waxing because getting the right combo of skins would be important with the Rabbs !

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2019-2020!)
So I have a set of the updated Gamme 54 BC:
Woods-
First impressions:
- it is noticeably lighter in my hands than the previous model. The weight on the English version of the site is 2080g/200cm (I am almost positive that is the weight of the outgoing model)- the weight posted on the Norwegian site is 1010g per ski/200cm (does that mean that it is less than half the weight of the outgoing model or is the "2080g" per pair?!?!). (As a note, the current E-99 Tour is posted as 1950/200cm).
- the balance point is identical between the new and the outgoing model.
- The new model might be slightly more tip-rockered than the outgoing.
- the flex pattern seems identical- flexing by hand...
- the camber underfoot seems identical- soft initial camber- very stiff second camber.
- the tip profile is the same- old-school- broad and raised.
- the sidecut profile seems identical...
At this point- without having tried the new ones- they seem almost identical other than the new one being lighter...
.............................
BTW- the description on the Norwegian site seems up to date- the English site seems to describe the outgoing model?
I have both the current and previous models in 210cm.Woods-

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2019-2020!)
Hi guys.
We have had some problems with the English webpage, and the process of updating information and pictures has made more head problems and been more of a struggle than I had hoped for. But as we speak, things seem to be somewhat in order again. I have updated most of the information, but if you find anything you have questions about or if you find some bugs or typos anywhere, please message us on Facebook and I will handle it straight away.
The feedback we get from the shops in the U.S and Canada these days is really good. They are selling our skis like hot bread, so I believe that the so-called "fever" actually is real! The shops are happy and took our advice to send us bigger orders this season, that is good. We have just visited Neptune Mountaineering and will be touring to visit REI and potential customers this week, så hopefully the staff in the shops will be more skilled, more informed and able to sell more skis in the time to come. We hope to have a few more shops next season.
That is good news for you there. And the more skis you bug the shops about, the more likely it is that we get more shops and more skis shipped out to the U.S and Canada!
You guys rock!
With mountainous regards from,
Åsnes

Hello Crister,
Is the posted weight of the previous Gamme 54 BC 2080g/200cm per ski or per pair? In other words, is the new model- at 1010g per ski- less than half the weight?
Thanks,
Gareth
