Well fish, the grass does not look that green over Medicine Bow Peak, Wyfisheater wrote:Woods,I would be happy with the ski season in the New Hampshire area, I guess the grass is always greener...

Ski season usually starts mid November in the Snowy Range and runs into early July. Cant beat skiing and mountain biking in the same day in Spring time. However the winters can be very brutal along with the WIND. There is a reason why Wyoming is the least populated state in US. But it suits me well.

Re: Its June, Anyone still skiing?
Thursday, I skied the Horstman Glacier on Blackcomb in the public lanes (the ski camps take up most of it). Snow on skiers right of the Horstman T Bar was quite delightful, ungroomed, but soft and supportive. I was testing the new set-up on my G3 Stinger BC's (78mm underfoot). B&D Plate/Dynafit Radical toes/Hardwire back end and it performed flawlessly. Previously, I had the Burnt Mountain three pins on them with T3's, long time readers of this site may recall my anguish in getting my T3's to fit the BM bindings. Anyway, I decided to up the binding ante on the G3's and use the Burnt Mountains on a new pair of skis for my wife to get her more into XCD.
Sorry, I don't have any photos, as I'm one of these guys who's out there to ski and getting the phone out is a pain. I used to rely on my late ski partner Bob Wiebe (Telemon on Telemarktips) who was a prolific photographer, and all-around good guy. Its about seven years ago since he died in a fall skinning up Mount Hood and he's sorely missed.

Hey no offense to the northern vermont, it's paradise up there, just saying if you're moving from the midwest to ski I'd suggest heading west vs. eastgreatgt wrote:Gotta say...skiing around the Northeast Kingdom ain't all that bad.....Pretty good in fact....But....those open slopes sure look real good.....Still the challenge of skiing here is pretty intense.....TM
