Woodies with a tech toe? Wow that is living with feet planted in two different worlds.
That soft snow is much nicer to fall in than granular ice the consistency of rock salt with glacier underneath. New Hampshire tourism should be paying you for these posts, it looks better all the time. Of course you guys have Vermont as a buffer to catch the tourists leaving New Hampshire unspoiled for the locals.

Took the dogs for a morning ski and found they rolled the road, should have brought the skinny skis. Pretty quick on the way back down

Hey Woods, whats the story with your friends skis? Are they classic or home made and how did they ski for him?

Found the ungroomed today, warm and a little sticky in places but we had a good time.

They are late 30's early 40's Nordland skis, solid hickory. I found them at a tag sale for $10. About 208cm and as stiff as a 4x4. We pine tarred them, waxed with polar, he fixed some splits in the tail with custom brass work and off to the races we go... they skied pretty terrible. I was coaching him in 1980's long skinny technique but he was pretty sure he was going to have to ski them like they did back in the old movies, all hunched over and skis apart and looking goofy, and he was correct. More trials to follow.

I've been looking for a pair of old skis, mostly for wall hangers, but I do plan on giving them a try.(not at the resort though) 10 bucks was a steel. I'm hoping to find something for around 80 or less.

Totally by chance. There was a big blow-out tag sale down the road from Mom's and I walked in my Mom's house and jokingly asked if they had skis, and my Dad's health aide (he's 93 and Azlheimer's bad) said, "you bet! Big old wood ones with elf like tips!" I ran at a sprint to the house and found them! Epic!

Today, an evening ski with Mrs Woods who took the pictures. Those are her Bonna 2400's
