Thanks Gareth. I was thinking about them for my grandkids. I don't get out with them enough to make it worthwhile to get the skis, but they have kids skis with a similar binding that I am thinking about remounting on cheap used kids DH skis as they get bigger.

So- mind-blowing Spring-like hill-country touring on December the 15th, 2018- after MANY, MANY days of VERY cold weather- about 10cm of beautiful light fresh stuff overnight and then above freezing temperatures all day.

I have been skiing since the first week of November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did about 5 kms early in the day- breaking trails with my 205cm Ingstad BC- and then absolutely freaking flying downhill through hardwood glades down into the Glen. WICKED. The new Ingstad kicks the shit out of the E-109 Xtralite and the Eon...

I went out late in the afternoon- before chores- on my 210cm Gamme 54 for a lightning tour. HOLY GREEN MAN SKI- LIGHTENING TOUR! I mostly stuck to our property- doing endless loops, over hill- under hill- down thru the sugar maple trail back and around- down through are steep field- pouncing and ripping turns...Even did a couple of victory laps around Maeve's Meadow! Holy shit- these skis are so smooth, so supportive, so fast, so light...I get up to such momentum...

Beautiful sunshine tomorrow- then 15+cm of fresh stuff on Monday- then a few days of open cold sunny weather!!! I can smell the Swix Green being buffed into the kick zone!!!!

Ha! Yes ridiculous isn't it- my sow Leslie has the grip-strength of a Gecko!
I'm not sure how I screwed that up- the photos were right-side-up when I uploaded them!

We had dream week of Swix Green kick wax.

Had a magical moon-lit ski tour with my son on Wednesday night and the kick wax on the Ingstad BC was pure alchemy.

My son 16-year old son has been really digging our 205 Eon Wax. He is light enough that the soft flex and soft tip of the Eon does not seem to pose the problems that it does for me! (Though he can't rip carved turns on it as easily as I can on my Ingstad BC!)

Yesterday was mild and full sun- no wind- snow was warm enough that it was calling out to soft wax...went with kicker ski instead, and I actually FLEW. I thought I had grabbed my 58mm mohair X-Skins...My friend was on his Ingstads with 58mm mohair X-skins. At first we were both confused as to how much better glide I was getting...Then we had a tea break and I noticed that I had actually slapped my 45mm mohair X-Skin on the Ingstad!!

I highly recommend having both the 58mm and the 45mm mohair X-Skin for a ski as wide as the Ingstad BC.

We had a massive rain storm on Dec 21-22! We lost a metre of snow! There is now about 30cm of white frozen concrete out there right now!

The weather is open, calm, sunny and cold for the week- with fresh snow in the forecast for Dec 28-29.
I am going to focus on some trail maintenance until the fresh snow arrives!

After the better part of a week of waiting- the soft stuff is back! 15cm of snowfall so far today with a foot of frozen concrete underneath!

I did have a good week though:
- sliding with the kids
- skating with kids (I "need" a pair of Nordic skates BTW- conditions this week on lake and river was perfect for them!)
- trail maintenance
- reading, snuggling and snoozing
- ski maintenance

My wife just came back fro a quick tour before she heads to town- conditions are excellent!
I am hanging out with my youngest son this afternoon- we will go sliding- hoping to get out on skis this evening!
