We have day 1 as well! Good 15cm of base out my back door today!
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

A pretty thrilling late November here in New Hampshire, though it kind of came all crashing down today. But anyway, from left to right, JOHNNY LIGHTNING, CHUCK FLANNEL, and STATE FARM JAKE crushed up to HoJo's and skied two laps on the Sherbiederbie and enjoyed wonderful packed powder conditions, some side-pow shots, and absolutely nothing hard. Some cool other skiers out there too, crushing it.

That looks pretty good there Woods. I got in 3 days of fun skiing in Pa. before the snow melted.

Snowy Range, Wyoming. Probably the best November Ive seen in a long time. Lake Swastika and Sally Creek trail.

From my previous experience in skiing in NH, I understand why you like waxable skis so much.

A picture of the Wallowa range in NE Oregon, taken last summer from the top of the Wallowa Lake Tramway and Mt. HOward (8200 ft). This is the highest range in NE Oregon. Skiing or hiking up from Wallowa Lake (approx. 4700 ft.) is beyond my capability.
